Meet Jackie Rakers, CC as she discusses “TOASTMASTERS”.

It is my privilege to welcome my friend, my patient and my fellow Toastmasters club member Jackie Rakers to THE PEOPLE OF TOASTMASTERS PROJECT!  I’ve known Jackie for several years dating back to our days in the now defunct Tri-County Toastmasters Club of Virden, IL.

Jackie is an awesome speaker and an incredible leader as well.  She is truly one of my mentors in Toastmasters International.  She grabbed the bull by the horns back in 2010 when her dream was to start a Toastmasters Club in Montgomery County.  I was honored that she asked me to play a small part in making that happen.  We are both very proud of the club that Jackie has helped to build in Hillsboro, IL.  She was the club’s inaugural President and she currently fills the role of Vice President of Education.

In 2009, I needed to conduct a community SPEECHCRAFT project to fulfill my HIGH PERFORMANCE LEADERSHIP Manual requirements, thus landing the coveted title of DTM or Distinguished Toastmaster.   My friend Toastmaster Rakers was one of the key players in helping me to make that happen.  It was an awesome and successful Speechcraft that went off without a hitch.  I really appreciate all of Jackie’s efforts as she came through for me there in a big way.   Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Here I was blessed with the opportunity to interview Jackie Rakers, CC (Competent Communicator) about one of our passions: TOASTMASTERS.  :-)

In this 8/2013 episode of PEOPLE of TOASTMASTERS for http://PeopleofToastmasters.com, Chandan Unchageri, DTM interviews Toastmaster Todd Austin, D.C. about CHIROPRACTIC, COLD LASER THERAPY & being a team physician and trainer for the SPRINGFIELD FOXES Semi-Pro Football team.  Dr. Austin practices both on the Springfield Foxes sideline and at Austin Family Chiropractic, a full service chiropractic and cold laser therapy clinic, in Virden which is located in Northern Macoupin County (North Mac) in central IL.

Both Toastmaster Todd & Toastmaster Chandan are from central IL clubs in Area 1 of Div. C of District 8 of Toastmasters International.  Both Austin & Unchageri are DTM recipients.

On September 3, 2013, Toastmaster Todd (Dr. Todd Austin, DTM) had the opportunity to introduce his new “People of Toastmasters” Project to his home club, the Montgomery County Toastmasters Club of Hillsboro, IL.

Austin is a member of Montgomery County Toastmasters in Hillsboro, IL.  Chandan is a member of the McBrian Lincoln Douglas Club in Springfield, IL.  Both Chandan and Toastmaster Todd are former Area Governors of Area 1 of Division C of District 8 of Toastmasters International.
